    Question Best Compiler

i use Dev C++ and have been coding for all of 30 minutes, have just succesfully written that hello world thing (yes i am proud of myself ) and i was wondering what other people opinions are on compilers.

as a beginner i want to start with the most easy to use, user friendly one i can find, Dev C++ seems ok, but then i wouldnt know an ok compiler if it kicked me in the b@lls

    thnx,
    foozle

Well, as long as you don't consider hitting a Play button hard, then yes it's the most user friendly one out there

Depends if you're confusing compiler and IDE, and what platform you're on.

Windows: MSVC++ 8 with their compiler
Linux: (depending on distro)Code::Blocks and compile with gcc
