Thread: [HELP] qAmp.exe coding

Hi well i was playing a while back with qamp.exe and winamp. I just remembered that the message is annoying and the key it is binded to is also difficult to reach at times (no comments on that please :tongue But.. i opened qamp.exe with resource tuner and i saw all the strings and bitmaps, etc.. but i did not see the string where it sends the sentence with the song in it. So i want to know, how can i change the message and/or the key? Is it possible? Do i need a diffrent program?

You'll find the string in a function where EnumChildWindows is called and GetAsyncKeyState is called (with 0x7B as keycode)

alternatively, look for the only string that uses say...

Thanks for responding but im sorry, i do not see anything with resource tuner. I looked at every single string, dialog, everything and no. In 1 file, i saw Say and Say_team but i couldnt edit that and it didnt even have the message.

EDIT: I found getasynckey but i dont see any of that say info.

I downloaded your ResourceTuner software, and I think I've figured out the problem.

ResourceTuner only modifies diaglogs and resources inside an exe/dll etc., but the actual code for the winamp spam is inside the exe, and not the dialog (obviously).

Grab a hex editor and just patch the software.

EDIT: I edited it successfully but with winhex, i can not save over 200mb so what hex editor do u suggest?

Sorry, i think it was 200b. And *BUMP* I still need a hex editor, thats free, good, easy, and can save over 200b.
