My friend got an error called this when he start up ET

have you even took the time to read? it isn't a opengl error.
happened to me a while ago, i patched it and it worked, dunno why

i dont think there is something to patch@2.55
reinstall ET and/or update/install the graphic card driver

I mean to say to use a patch selector ^^
i sue et starter pro, and it fixed my problem

Probably, but maybe he doesn't want to redownload, reinstall, he could just repatch his 2.55

happened to me when i installed it on my laptop..
i reinstalled it and it worked fine.

What sort of settings do u have in your autoexe.cfg? Maybe it is due to an incorrect setting in your autoexec which may be causing your crash (which has happened to me before). But ofc simplest/easiest way to fix errors is to do a re-install or re-patch as others have suggested.
