Thread: [ERROR] Enemy Territory error

Hey all
Sometimes when i play enemy territory (especially with bots, Jaymod in particular) i get an error message and the game cuts out. this happens when a lot of "colour" goes about, e.g, several airstrikes, grenades, just a lot of graphics happening.

the error is:

MAX_GAMESTATE_CHARS exceeded..

What the hell is this error, and how do i fix it?

it means that too many things are being processed, in other words its running too many cvars at once and errors out. TO fix it try to turn some cvars off (cg_wolfparticles 0 etc) to tone down some gfx and max cvars can also mean you have too many cvars in your config and the game will error out.

Check through your default config to see if you have any bot commands, if so, delete them, if not, jsut check through and make sur eyou dont have massive amounts, custom configs from here and other places can cause such errors because they have a lot of cvars in them to make the gameplay how it is desired.

alright, however, i do have a LOT of the cvar's lowered.

Try then to get a new profile at ET. e.g. restore the defaults ?
