[NOOB TUTORIAL] ETH32nix Salvation - Compiling & Running

    Hello,

This is the 'Noob Tutorial' for ETH32nix. I will tell and show you step by step what to do and how to do it.
ETH32nix Salvation was released on Rabbnix.com, all credits for ETH32nix Salvation go to the coders, not me!
You can find the release thread here: Rabbnix - Forums
No time to waste so lets start straight away.

Distro: Ubuntu 9.04 'Jaunty Jackalope' i386.
    __________________________________________________ _________________________________________________

    STEP ONE - Downloading

    Click on this link: LINK!
A message will popup and ask you if you would like to 'Open' or 'Save' the file.
    Select 'Save'.
Now there will be a file on your Desktop called 'salvation src.tar.gz'

    STEP TWO - Extracting

Go to your Desktop and click on 'salvation src.tar.gz' with your right mouse button.
    Then select 'Extract Here'.

Now there will be a folder called 'salvation_src'

Now you can delete 'salvation src.tar.gz' because we won't need that anymore
Click on 'salvation src.tar.gz' with your right mouse button.
    Then select 'Move to Trash'.

    STEP THREE - Compiling

Open a Terminal by clicking on 'Applications' in the up left cornor.
Select 'Accessories', and then click on 'Terminal'.

    http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/29/st4.png

A window will popup. This is the terminal. You can compare it to 'cmd' in Windows.

    http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/6192/st5.png

    Now type:
    Code:
    cd Desktop/salvation_src
    And press enter.

    http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/6039/st6.png

The next thing we need to do is install the programs/files we need to compile ETH32nix.
We can do this by typing the following into the terminal:
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install scons binutils-dev libelfg0 libelfg0-dev libcppunit-dev libx11-dev libgl1-mesa-dev zlib1g-dev g++ gcc pkg-config
    Now press enter.

After you pressed enter it will ask you for your password.
    Type your password.
Note: You will not see what you are typing, nor will you see *'s, but just type it anyway.

If you press enter you will see alot of things happening, this means it's installing the essential programs/files are being installed.
Your screen will probably be diffirent from the screenshot, since I have the programs/files installed allready.

    http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/2851/st9.png

Now we need to enter the commands to start compiling.
Type the following into the terminal:
    Code:
    scons && scons pk3 && mkdir -p dll && cd client && scons && cp cgame.mp.i386.so ../dll && cd ..

When you press enter you will get alot of output, but don't pay attention to that, it's not important.
When that's done close the Terminal, either by clicking on the X in the top right cornor or by typing 'exit' and pressing enter.

    STEP FOUR - Runfile Editing

Now open the 'salvation_src' folder again.
Next click the file called '255' (if you want to play 2.60(b) click on '260')
Then there will be a popup asking you what you want to do.
    Click on 'Display'

    http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/1608/st12.png

    Now a textfile will show.
    Which will look like this:

    http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/2541/st13.png

Now we need to change a two lines in there.
    The first one is:
    Code:
    export ETH32_DIR="/home/rabbit/work/eth32nix_salvation_final"
We need to change it to:
    Code:
    export ETH32_DIR="/home/$USER/Desktop/salvation_src/"
    The second line is:
    Code:
    export ETH32_ET="/home/rabbit/games/et2.55"
    Change that to:
    Code:
    export ETH32_ET="/usr/local/games/enemy-territory"
So before we edited it, it looked like this:
    Code:
    #!/bin/sh
    export ETH32_DIR="/home/rabbit/work/eth32nix_salvation_final"
    export ETH32_ET="/home/rabbit/games/et2.55"
    export LD_PRELOAD="$ETH32_DIR/libeth32nix.so"
    export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:.
    cd $ETH32_ET

    exec ./et.x86 +set fs_game etpub "$@"
    unset LD_PRELOAD
And after we edited it, it looks like this:
    Code:
    #!/bin/sh
    export ETH32_DIR="/home/$USER/Desktop/salvation_src/"
    export ETH32_ET="/usr/local/games/enemy-territory"
    export LD_PRELOAD="$ETH32_DIR/libeth32nix.so"
    export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:.
    cd $ETH32_ET

    exec ./et.x86 +set fs_game etpub "$@"
    unset LD_PRELOAD
    __________________________________________________ _________________________________________________

    That's it.
    Simple right?

Still don't understand it? Contact me at Chef1411@live.nl or come to the Rabbnix IRC and ask for help (Freenode #Rabbnix)

    Regards,
    Chef

Do this work at my Kubuntu?
    Is this undetected?
    Is this for etpro too?
    Cheaters always win?

Yes it does work with ET 2.60b.
Yes, this cheat does work on Kubuntu.
Yes again, this is undetected. You should know that PunkBuster does not update for Linux, untill they start doing so all Linux ET Cheats are undetected.
And I'm not sure about the mod support, if you want to know which mods it supports download it and check the offsets.

Re: [NOOB TURORIAL] ETH32nix Salvation - Compiling & Running

Thanks, this tips worked perfect. But it is the very first time I have ever used a cheat software like this and I am really lost. I start the game and when an enemy appears, my player shots till kill and after ask his name... It's difficult to walk, because my player really become a killer machine. So everyone know I am cheating. I see there is a config file, and I tried to edit, but there are lots of parameters and I could not understand most of them... Something like "autofire" is easy, but the rest is really complicated... Can I find any documentation or something like that that explains how to edit the config file? Thanks.

Another thing... Can I configure it inside the game in a GUI mode? Thanks again.

I tried the GUI (F9), but my screen is very different, I think it's a bug, because I can't read anything. The server is running the jaymod or something like that. I will try to post a screen.
