    [Tutorial] How to install ET 2.55 on Linux

    How to install ET 2.55 on...
    Debian-based systems (Ubuntu, Debian, Sidux, Knoppix..)

    * Open up a terminal
    * Download Enemy Territory 2.55 with the following command:

    Code:
    wget http://ftp.games.skynet.be/pub/wolfenstein/et-linux-2.55.x86.run
    * You will need libgtk1.2 to install it correctly:

    Code:
    sudo apt-get install libgtk1.2
    * Now type

    Code:
    cd /home/username/folderwhereyouretinstallationfileis/
    * Then type

    Code:
    chmod +x et-linux-2.55.x86.run
    * Then

    Code:
    ./et-linux-2.55.x86.run
    * If it asks for your admin password just press enter, it's more secure to install ET as non-root
    * If you want to play ET just open a terminal and type:

    Code:
    et

    It's a security feature, so you can't see the length of the pass.

    Code:
    Sudo aptitude install xchat
    and then you got IRC, go to nixcoders and
    ask for help, I'm sure they like to help you.
    They helped me too.

    Regards,
